A highly experiential and engaging format, Reading in the Dark allows University students and visually impaired readers to take turns reading literary paragraphs that LIA makes accessible in various ways: printed and digital, enlarged font, braille and speech synthesis, allowing words to take shape in the dark. This event raises awareness of content accessibility and the socio-cultural inclusion of people with visual impairments through a participatory experience that allows different forms of reading an accessible text to be experienced, through the eyes, hands and ears. The reading is accompanied by an exhibition of photographs taken during educational activities carried out by the LIA Foundation with blind and visually impaired people.
The event is organized within the MiCA project (Milan for Accessible Culture) thanks to the support of Fondazione Cariplo.
